SKU: K-1003 Category:

The Taylor Technologies K-1003 Pool Test Kit will test for 4 parameters, chlorine/ bromine, pH and total alkalinity.  Also includes two additional tests for acid and base demand. This particular test as well as the K-1004 would be considered an upgrade from the K-1000 and K-1001 respectively. The kit uses OT as the method to test the chlorine/bromine, which will give you total chlorine opposed to DPD kits that will test for free chlorine and total chlorine.

The K-1003 will allow you to meter the amount of buffer capacity in the water, your total alkalinity, by titrating the buffer capacity out using an acid.  Total alkalinity helps keep your water’s pH in line by allowing the buffer to be affected by changes before the pH changes.  Pool and spa water uses baking soda to buffer the pH.

Range

  • pH:  6.8-8.2
  • Total Chlorine: 0.5 ppm -5 ppm
  • Total Bromine: 1 ppm – 10 ppm
  • Total Alkalinity:  Ideal Range 80-120, acceptable range 80-150

Number of Tests

  • Chlorine/Bromine  105 tests
  • pH 105 tests
  • Total Alkalinity:  Ideal Range 80-120, at 100 ppm you would have 52 tests

For Accurate Test Kit Results

  • Keep test kits and reagents in the right condition, keep them in a cool, dark place away from other chemicals
  • Keep test kits and reagents out of direct sunlight
  • Test kits and reagents should be kept at room temperature or colder (2 -29 C), keep them out of extreme temperatures
  • Make sure the lid securely fastened, as well as all caps secured tightly on the reagent bottles
  • Keep out of reach of children, SDS’ are available upon request
  • Make sure the colour comparator is in good condition. Check for cracks, faded colour swatch
  • If the comparator is cloudy, a light acid solution usually cleans them up, if not a new comparator is needed
  • Avoid contamination by not interchanging cap of the reagent bottles
  • Wipe, clean and dry all equipment after use
  • When comparing the colour of the sample against the known colour swatch, use day light opposed to indoor light
